Nature’s Nutrition Green Tea Extract offers natural weight loss assistance to dieters who are seeking support for their healthy weight management practices. Developed by Nature’s Nutrition, this OTC diet pill aims to provide support for healthy heart, metabolism and energy.

The Nature’s Nutrition Green Tea Extract formula includes:

Green Tea 98% Extract (dried leaves) Epigallocatechin 3P gallate EGCG (45% min) Polyphenol Catechins (75% min.). There is both naturally occurring caffeine and L-theanine in this ingredient.

While there is 1,000 mg of green tea per 2 capsule serving, Nature’s Nutrition has not disclosed how much caffeine is in each serving size, nor has it listed any directions on how to use this product.

Green Tea and Weight Loss

It is commonly believed that green tea can provide a number of health benefits. Among these include:

  • Reduce cholesterol
  • Reduce fats in the blood
  • Increase metabolism
  • Improve mental alertness
  • Improve diabetes
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Soothe sunburn
  • Treat genital warts
  • Prevent certain types of cancers

With the exception of possibly being beneficial at helping treating genital warts, there is no solid scientific evidence to backup the many health claims associated with ingesting green tea products or applying it topically.

In regard to obesity, there have been studies, but so far the evidence regarding the effects of green tea in obese people has been conflicting. Some research has found that it may slightly improve weight loss and reduce body mass index in obese adults and children, with these benefits being linked to the amount of catechins or caffeine within the supplement. However, not all studies have shown these benefits.

Currently, the best evidence suggests that it is caffeine-containing green tea (such as in the case of Nature’s Nutrition Green Tea Extract) that shows the most promise in aiding in weight loss in obese and overweight individuals. Still, the amount of weight loss that has been seen in studies has been small, which doesn’t suggest long-term meaningful weight loss.

Nature’s Nutrition Green Tea Extract Final Thoughts

There is no guarantee that this weight management aid will be beneficial for helping you shed excess weight. Furthermore, the fact that the manufacturer has not shared how much caffeine is in each serving raises a red flag.

Although green tea does contain less caffeine than coffee, the amount that may be present in 1,000 mg of green tea may still be too much for those who are sensitive to stimulants, or even those who many combine this product with other foods or beverages that contain caffeine or other stimulants.

Keep this in mind if you are interested in taking Nature’s Nutrition Green Tea Extract and remember that is always bets to err on the side of caution and avoid this product altogether if you want to avoid stimulant diet pills.
